Overall reflection

The overall reflection of this project is that I disliked it but I guess I was necessary.  I guess that the Wiki made sense but I don’t get the point of the blog. Personally, I thought it was a busy work, and pointless.

But the overall review of the findings and the research process is that I did learn from it. It taught us about what are the effects of having obsessions to an animal, what are the signs of obsessions. And the inside view with a person who is obsessed to a certain animal. Basically it has opened my eyes and widened my knowledge.

WIKI

Hey people,  for this post I wanted to introducer you guys to my new Wiki. This Wiki will basically review what I have done here as well as a few more stuff. At the Wiki i will take the viewer and open their eyes to see what really is obsession to animals the how they can cause damage to the dog and to th human.

Dog Abuse

I am a dog person, but I don't know that I'm obsessed. I can only speak for myself but here's why I LOVE my dogs:
...they are ALWAYS happy to see you, whether you've been gone a week or 10 minutes
...they're just so darn cute
...they NEVER judge you based on how you look or if you do something stupid
...they can be very comical and make you laugh when you really need it
...they will sit and listen to your problems or just keep you company
...they're good protection to take on walks
...they depend on me for everything - which makes me feel important

OK. So maybe I am a little obsessed... but we love them so thats why we need protect them from abusers.

Why do you like ur favorite kind of animal and do you think your somewhat obsessed?

Pets growing in numbers

Surprising pets weren't always so popular in America. I know I am surprised too. But like most other things in American it can up slowly. Now-a-days, two-thirds of all houses in American contain at least one pet. That’s a lot, that’s almost 71 million homes. The number wasn’t always that high, in 1988 the percent of have a pet in the house was 56.

Here is the site, this site not only states what I have said but also says the how and the effects on how animals got accepted in our lives.

Weird Cases

There are always those strange cases of extreme obsession. People like Derek Spring. Derek has tattooed himself to look like a lizard. As well as, having surgery to look like a snake, he has had surgery to separate his tongue and place bead like things were his eye-brow would be. The estimated cost? Cost can be estimated at a whooping two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

He is a perfect example, his love for reptiles made him remodel himself to look like one. Have you ever seen people how have these extreme passions?

Addiction in its Habitat

Animal obsessions, have mean roots, some know to us as humans and some unknown. I have sometimes pondered what causes them. So this post is more about addictions than the animal part.

People have had addictions with out knowing they are addicted to something. They might not know that they have an addiction because it seems normal to them. Most addictions start out little, for an example, when teens are texting on their mobile phones. They don't start off sending 23 thousand in the first month, but they build up to the it.

In this book that I have lately picked up was about addictions and how people think when they are addicted. The book is called "Addictive Thinking and the Addictive Personality" goes through the steps of addiction. As well as, the thoughts and feeling of someone who is going through addictions and the recovery steps out of addiction.

Extreme Cases

I was on the web looking around and found this interesting website. When I was reading the beginning I first thought of those “old crazy cat ladies.” But later on, I kind of think these kinds of people really need help. They pose a threat not only to their pets but also to other humans.
The characteristic that are stated in the second section can be deemed as a threat in the severe cases! Do you think “Hoarders” should have pets in their control?

The thin line between obsession and devotion

In this article, we learn the differences of loving one's pets and being obsessed or "passionate" as the expert would say.Every one has at least met these kinds of people. The kind that think about the pet almost all the time. The kind that will go to the extreme, just like Kim Swank in this article.
Do you think Swank is obsessed or just "passionate" about pets?

Addiction, Fun but Deadly

During my search for the reason why humans form close relationships and addictions to pets, I found something you might be interested in. In this link here, it shows snake owner getting bit by a poisonous snake.Obviously he lived but that was a close call. Almost dieing from cleaning a snakes cage. I guessed he really liked snakes.... What do you think? Please share with us we are curious to know?

Interest at Birth

At birth, I was born in my parents house house, I mean that literally, and grew up on my grandfather's farm. Always surrounded by animals like chicken, goose, donkeys, sheep and cows. Even in the house the the goose would room around freely. My age at the time was like 3 or 4 years old and I was built a close connection to the animals. I was pretty small back then, so the goose were a little smaller than me, and I would jump on they would kinda carry me.Few years later, I am in the U.S. with a few pets of my own. Of course, I became my pets favorite chew toy, but we had a plethora of enjoyable moments. therefore, I kinda loved and became interested in animals.

What reminded me of the whole "Human and Pet Friendships" is when I was doing my movie for English class. The movie was about how two animals were put in danger and a human came by and saved them. Eventually, he keep the animals to become pets of his and they had a "loving" relationship. From there, I thought about the people who had these kinds of relationship with pets, how they formed and even if an addiction was possible. Then I thought that would be a great idea for a blog and thus here I am.
