During my search for the reason why humans form close relationships and addictions to pets, I found something you might be interested in. In this link here, it shows snake owner getting bit by a poisonous snake.Obviously he lived but that was a close call. Almost dieing from cleaning a snakes cage. I guessed he really liked snakes....
